I think a lot of agency owners are looking at AI the wrong way.
They see the ability to produce 2x, 5x, or even 10x more work.
And think:
“Great, We can scale.”
But what happens when you can produce more work than your clients can approve?
That was one of the most interesting parts of my conversation with Drew Mabry from Fast and Light.
His agency has been around for 10 years.
They've survived COVID, shifted their positioning, expanded into creative, and now they're navigating the same AI disruption we're all dealing with.
But the biggest lesson wasn't about which AI tools they're using.
It was about where humans still need to be involved.
We talked about:
The one part of creative Drew still won't trust AI with
How they turned client reporting into something completely different
Why “stuck scalers” became the agency's ideal client
If you're trying to figure out what your agency looks like in an AI heavy world, this conversation is worth your time.
