I used to think pricing was the place to start.

It isn't.

In fact, I think it's one of the biggest reasons agency owners end up building businesses they eventually resent.

Most people ask:

"How do I charge more?"

But that's the wrong question.

If your pricing is based on what competitors charge or what you think clients will pay, you've already designed your agency around scarcity.

That's when the cycle starts.

Lower prices.

More clients.

More complexity.

Worse delivery.

Higher churn.

Then you're stuck wondering why growth feels so hard.

In this episode, I break down why pricing is actually the result of your agency design, not the starting point.

I also share:

  • The question I ask every client before we ever talk about pricing.

  • Why every discount quietly reduces your client's chances of success.

  • The "agency death spiral" that keeps good agencies permanently capped.

One story surprised even me.

When I launched a new service, we intentionally priced it low.

Within a month we'd signed around 40 clients and almost all of them were the wrong clients.

That lesson completely changed how I think about pricing forever.
