If you’re using free audits to win clients, you could be losing business before the sales conversation even starts.

I learned that after delivering roughly 100 audits that brought in only four or five clients.

We found legitimate problems and shared useful insights, but we were asking prospects to hear what was wrong without showing them what fixing it could be worth.

Pairing those findings with a growth plan made the opportunity more compelling. I’d estimate our close rate doubled or tripled.

Putting the potential upside into our outreach gave prospects a reason to book before they’d seen the plan.

For example, consider a brand spending $50,000 a month on ads.

At 1.3 ROAS, that’s $65,000 in attributed revenue.

At 1.8, it’s $90,000 from the same spend.

A potential $25,000 monthly improvement gives a prospect something concrete to investigate (provided your experience supports that assumption).

If you’re trying to generate clients with an upfront audit, I’d say it’s very important to make three things clear:

  1. the opportunity you’ll investigate

  2. what it could be worth

  3. the deliverable (the growth plan) they’ll receive at the end to take next steps

By the way, this is just one of many of the client acquisition frameworks we work through inside Agency Uplift.

Through group coaching, implementation support, and practical templates, we help you improve how you win clients and build the team and systems to serve them.

Growth shouldn’t keep pulling you deeper into delivery!
